After successful gatherings in Brazil, Colombia, and Peru, we are proud to be hosting the 2017 conference in Mexico City this 27-28 June. Mexico is continuing to develop its armoured capabilities for the Army, Police and Marine Forces to support ongoing counter-narcotics operations inside and along its borders, and this year’s event will provide a platform for its senior military commanders and security forces to discuss their upcoming acquisitions and operational challenges and success.
Beyond Mexico, the region continues to build comprehensive acquisition projects for its land and amphibious forces, whilst investment into MRO and upgrades to maintain a combat-ready fleet continues to be a priority. From Peru’s recent purchase of Stryker vehicles, to the Argentinian Marine Corps’ Amphibious Vehicle Recovery program, the region remains a hub of armoured capability transformation as nations look to combat domestic and transnational threats in both jungle and urban environments.
Recognising this, the 2017 Armoured Vehicles Latin America conference will gather once more a diverse mix of armour specialists, procurement heads and military commanders to review these projects as well as outline their strategic objectives for the years ahead. Senior speakers this year include: • Lieutenant General Luiz Paul Cruz, Director Peacekeeping Strategic Partnerships, United Nations • Brigadier General Salvador Orlando Montano, Commander, Logistics and Army Support Command, El Salvador Army • Daneilla McCalmon, Permanent Secretary, Guyana Ministry of Public Security • Captain Emilio E Segura, Project of Amphibious Vehicles Recovery, Argentine Marine Corps • Commander Pablo von Unger Thauby, Project Manager for Marine Corps Integrated development, Programs, Research, Chilean Navy • Major Rodriguez Erik Humberto, Commander, Comando del Batallón de Movilidad de Infantería de Marina No.1, Colombian Marine Corps
