The 6th Annual Supply Chain ME Strategy Summit will highlight the various developments in supply chain for the middle eastern region while also discussing the best approaches in dealing with existing & new challenges in the supply chain.

25th April 2017: The Annual Supply Chain ME Strategy Summit began it's 6th edition today at the Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre Hotel here in Dubai. The event is based on the theme of future procurement and supply chain practices as well as the inevitable movement of the physical supply chain activities to the internet domain.

The event aims to re-construct the theory of a one-size-fits-all supply chain solution that can be applicable to all organizations and focuses on highlighting the supply chain strategies that yield maximum benefit to each individual organization. In that vein, the event started with a keynote address from Mahmood Al Bastaki, Chairman of ICC – International Chamber Of Commerce, UAE speaking on the supply chain landscape in Middle East region & UAE's commitment to promoting growth of international trade as an engine for growth, peace and prosperity.

Anis Tabka Senior Vice President – Sourcing, Contracts & Supply Chain Management from Du – Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, PJSC spoke on the relation between IOT and supply chain which are reshaping the strategies, threats and opportunities in the sector. This was followed by an address from Sam Achampong, Regional Director – MENA of CIPS on Supply Century: The Future Of Procurement And Supply by the year 2020 and the factors that will be instrumental for this change. Andreas Schwarze, Executive Vice President -DACH, Scandinavia &
the Middle East from SynerTrade spoke on how data harmonization is the foundation for
spend control. While Hamilton Rozario, Senior Purchasing Officer from Emirates Global Aluminium elaborated how data visualization helps to communicate data effectively.

Artur Osipyan Head of Supply Chain from Oxy & Vasco Amoroso, Director - Group Supply Chain (UAE) from Mattex Group spoke on “3D PRINTING: A Supply Chain Perspective From Oil Industry” and “Demand Forecasting” respectively. The other presentations of the day included “Inventory Optimization &Warehouse Management” by Mohamed Abdel Kader, Supply Chain Senior Manager – BMW, Egypt, “Contract Ownership: Emerging Scheme For Efficient Contracts Management” by Mike Anwana, Advisor – Supply Department from RasGas and finishing with a presentation on “Strategy For Supply Chain Transformation” by Rashid Saber Ph.D, CPHRM from Higher Colleges Of Technology. The first day of conference concluded with a round-table discussion on tracking and tracing in the warehouse, e- procurement and redefining of the supply chain.

The presentations on the 2nd day will begin with a keynote address on “Blockchain and the Future of Procurement & Supply” by Sam Achampong, Regional Director – MENA of CIPS, UAE. “Supply Chain As A Competitive Advantage In The Omnichannel Age” will be presented by Dr. Mahmoud Khattab B.TECH – Chairman & C.E.O. The other presentations for the day include “The Impact Of Supply Chain Management To Oil And Gas Industry During The Downturn” by Andre Da Silva, Head of Global Strategic Sourcing & Category Management- Mubadala Petroleum followed by “Risk, Innovation, Sustainability, Globalization, Integration, Collaboration, Information, People, Finance” by Amr Fisal,Procurement and Contract Specialist -Noor Bank and “Evolution of Cold Chain as the Spine of Food Business in the Middle East” by Mark Heald, Head of Supply Chain-Al Ghurair Foods Pty Ltd.

The day will also include a case study on the results of more than thirty years of ARAMCO'S integrated H&S policy, resulting into a unique set of guide lines for handling hazardous materials followed by a panel discussion on “Best Approach In Dealing With Challenges In Supply Chain” before the closing of the event.
