Dubai (December 6, 2017), Supported by Dubai Municipality and Etihad ESCO, the 2nd annual Dubai Green Hotel Innovation has been launched successfully yesterday at Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf. This conference is organized by Advanced Conferences & Meetings.
Holley Chant, Executive Director - Corporate Sustainability at KEO International Consultants chaired the conference.
Ali Jassim the CEO of Etihad ESCO officially inaugurated the event and delivered the opening speech. Also, Ali Jassim delivered a presentation during the conference on retrofitting existing building components to improve savings by 2030.
The opening speech was followed by a presentation from Taqati’s Executive Director, Aref Abou Zahr who detailed the Demand Side Management programme for hotels in line with the Dubai plan 2021.
Elham Al Saffar from Dubai Municipality presented about the building regulations and the green building codes and labelling scheme.
Al Saffar also participated in the panel discussion on the sustainable hotel management as a source of competitive advantage along with John Shamon, Chief Technical Services Officer at Kerzner International, Hassan Younes, Technical Director at Griffin Consultants, Bachir Rajji, Area Director Engineering & Design – Middle East & Sub Saharan Africa at The Rezidor Hotel Group, Deepak Manocha, General Manager at Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf & Marriott Executive Apartments Al Jaddaf and Aref Abou Zahr, Executive Director at Taqati.
The event included a networking lunch and many breaks that brought together all attendees, speakers and sponsors in a professional friendly atmosphere.
The first day of Dubai Green Hotel Innovation created the perfect platform for the attendees to build relations, exchange ideas and seize business opportunities throughout the ACMi+ interface that allowed for many networking breaks which created a dynamic, efficient and relevant learning environment.
