BlueCat Networks, the IPAM Intelligence company, today announced its partnership with Quintica, the leading information and communications technology (ICT) company in South Africa. Quintica will be BlueCat Networks' direct partner and reseller for the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region and South Africa.

The partnership will help strengthen BlueCat Networks' presence in the Mena region and South Africa market as well as promote BlueCat Networks' suite of IPAM services.

Quintica Group is an integrated systems technology company that provides complex infrastructure solutions, managed and hosted services and professional solution sets to drive information efficiency, operational governance and service improvement across emerging markets in the Mena region and Africa. This new partnership will enable Quintica to provide large enterprises as well as small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the Mena region and South Africa with BlueCat Networks' newly-launched Proteus Cloud Services and market-leading IPv6 Address Management platforms.

IP address management (IPAM) is becoming a crucial issue for organisations, as most current networks run on the IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4). With IPv4 addresses likely to be fully committed by Q2 of 2011, organizations will have to adopt the new IPv6 for future addresses - with many organizations running a combination of IPv4 and IPv6. BlueCat Networks' Proteus IPAM v3.5 offers a complete end-to-end IPAM solution for both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.

"Feedback from our customers makes it clear that it is no longer possible to manage the fast-increasing number of devices on an IPv4 network with traditional spreadsheets, and as IPv6's longer IP addresses become the norm, it will make this necessary task even more difficult," said Colin Cloete, Managing Director, Quintica Middle East.

"Our customers are demanding solutions that make it simple to deploy, manage, monitor and audit IP addresses, and BlueCat's DDI technology not only makes it easy to man-age IP addresses across the entire enterprise from a single Web-based interface, but also enables organ-izations to plan for and integrate IPv6 networks," Cloete continued. "BlueCat's market-leading DDI solutions are an ideal addition to Quintica's 'best-of-breed' product line as they will enable us to com-pletely eliminate network accessibility headaches for our customers."

"With the number of devices connecting to enterprise networks increasing fast, the demand for IP address management is also growing rapidly," said Dean Bell, Vice President - Middle East and Asia Pacific at BlueCat Networks.

"This partnership provides Quintica with the ideal solution to meet this increased demand in both the Mena region and South Africa, and will enable BlueCat to commercialise its IPv6 and Cloud offerings," Bell continued.

"BlueCat is keen to tap into key markets such as education, oil and gas as well as the retail sector, and this partnership with Quintica creates a solid framework as well as increased visibility for BlueCat to quickly and effectively deliver value to the reseller community in the Mena region and South Africa," added Bell.

BlueCat Networks' IPAM solution integrates with Microsoft Windows DNS and DHCP to simplify network management by making it easy for administrators to fully integrate IP inventory tracking and allocation, along with DNS and DHCP management.
