Dubai, UAE: October 6, 2011: Inmarsat, the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications services, today announced that it will be showcasing its full portfolio of land services at this year's GulfComms exhibition in Zabeel Hall, stand Z-C25.
For the first time, Inmarsat will be highlighting the new machine-to-machine (M2M), fixed voice and broadband data services. Visitors will have the opportunity to understand how the Inmarsat enhanced portfolio can now meet a broader range of business-critical applications in various industry sectors.
"As demand for mobile satellite communications services continue to grow in the Middle East, Inmarsat is committed to providing customers with cost-effective and high-speed mobile technologies. Our portfolio of land services offers a variety of performance options to suit different applications. Services are accessed through a range of portable, fixed and vehicular terminals, and you can use the same device worldwide," said Drew Brandy, Land Mobile Director, Inmarsat.
All of Inmarsat services are backed by a global satellite network, which operates at an unrivalled 99.9 per cent reliability and has an expected life into the 2020s, a trusted offering for the present and in the future.
Launched in the Middle East at last year's GulfComms, IsatPhone Pro is a handheld satellite phone designed for professional users in the government, media, aid, oil and gas, mining and construction sectors. With global coverage, IsatPhone Pro offers high-quality satellite telephony, text and email messaging. Location data can also be viewed and sent in a text message.
The voice and broadband data capability of Inmarsat's award-winning BGAN service offers remote access to office-based applications like email, internet or VPN access. Users requiring more bandwidth and guaranteed data rates - such as for videoconferencing, telemedicine or live broadcasting - can benefit from the ease in portability and fast streaming connections of BGAN X-Stream.
For tracking and monitoring mobile assets on a global basis, Inmarsat's low speed data services provides efficient low data rate messaging, tracking and monitoring.
