With over 20,000 designs of clothing, footwear and fashion accessories the website offers residents of the Middle East a comprehensive and convenient alternative to shopping malls and other retail outlets.
Now also featuring a new Arabic language interface, Namshi is poised to become the region's preferred shopping destination.
Over recent years, e-commerce has experienced tremendous growth in the region as opportunities in the field continue to increase and risk factors of online transactions diminish.
According to a recent report from IMRG and Visa Middle East, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates lead the GCC in consumer e-commerce with an estimated $520m and $1.9m spent respectively during 2010.
The report also estimated that consumer e-commerce spending in the GCC would reach $15bn by 2015. The online retail market in particular has been one component of ecommerce that has seen unprecedented success in the region, growing at one of the fastest rates in the world.
Namshi.com was officially launched in January 2012. Having initially started with delivery to the UAE, the website has grown rapidly not only in terms of building a diverse selection of brands and styles, but also in increasing its customer base across the region.
"Our success thus far is a testament to the rise in popularity of online shopping in the Arab World," said Louis Lebbos, one of Namshi's co-founders.
"We saw a great opportunity in the e-commerce space, as Arabs and expats living in the Middle East become more comfortable making online transactions. Our job at Namshi is to make it easy for customers to enjoy the benefits of online shopping by offering a wide selection of options with free shipping and returns," added Lebbos.
Namshi.com offers a wide variety of international brands and styles, many of which are exclusive brands unavailable in regional retail stores.
"We offer a diverse selection of brands from mainstream to designer brands that will suit any type of personal style," added Hosam Arab, another Namshi co-founder.
"We currently offer shoe brands ranging from Sam Edelman to Puma as well as clothing lines such as House of Dereon (singer Beyonce Knowles' line) and Motel Rocks. We also recently added a number of cosmetics lines to our website, giving our customers a one stop shopping experience," he stated.
Most recently, Namshi has added Polo Ralph Lauren for kids, Boxfresh, and Pelle Moda to its catalogue of fashion brands.
