InnoVest Group helps entrepreneurs raise VC funding in Middle East and Eurasia
Sep 9 2007 -

Washington DC, USA (September 5, 2007) – Entrepreneurs at new and growing companies specializing in developing energy and high-tech are being given the unique opportunity to bridge the gap between R&D and business creation at a workshop being run by InnoVest Group executives.

The InnoVest Group hosted a four-day workshop on July that aims to equip companies with the necessary business tools to help them bring their early stage, energy and high-tech innovations to the market place. This workshop also assists InnoVest to select some of the participating companies with appropriate content to expand their operation to Middle East and Eurasia.

The companies that attended the seminars, including three spin-off companies from University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia and five energy technology developers, were offered strategic and business development support, and practical advice on growing companies and raising venture capital funding.

InnoVest is considering early stage investments in some of the participating companies since they have demonstrated real commercial potential following the four days of the workshop.

David Dastvar, Managing Partner of InnoVest Group commented: “This is the first time that an investment workshop dedicated to energy saving products and innovation has been run in the US, offering companies a unique opportunity to learn from experienced technology investors. The workshops are an effective way of preparing companies for private sector investment and a chance to engage with potential investors.”

Mr. Dastvar added: “Such an approach helps InnoVest Group engage and identify innovative and very early stage energy saving technology companies that offer real investment potential for the future”.

“We are looking to invest in an expanding and innovative market, which we expect will generate significant revenue streams in the long term. Given the market drive towards an energy saving economy, and targets for increasing use of renewable energy, these technologies are of growing interest to investors.”

The intensive workshop covers a number of practical topics, including:
æ Strategic business planning
æ Sources of finance
æ Product development
æ Sales and marketing
