Dubai, UAE, 19 September 2016: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, enabled the bill payment service through mPay app of Dubai smart Government which provides easy and safe digital payment service using credit or debit cards. This move is expected to enhance the pace of payments as it will improve the quality of services provided to Empower’s customers.

’mPay’ is a unified Dubai government application that serves as a common platform where the payment services of leading entities such as Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), Etisalat, Dubai Municipality, du, RTA and Dubai Police, among others, are accessible. A user can visit mPay app, instead of visiting separate apps of each entity, and pay bills from mPay platform. In addition, customers can now pay Empower bills by using ‘DubaiNow application’, another Dubai Smart Government initiative that includes more than 50 smart services provided by most of the government organisations in Dubai.

“This move from Empower is in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and it complies with Smart City initiative to convert all the services and payment methods to digital platforms which will further enhance the quality of services we provide to our customers,” said HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

Inclusion of Empower bill payment in mPay app is a significant step in this regard. The app is available on major operating systems such as iOS, Android, and Blackberry,” added HE Bin Shafar.

Empower currently operates more than 1 million 100 thousands RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
