Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) was recognized amongst the top 10 companies to work for in the UAE for 2013 at ceremony held in Dubai yesterday. The leading provider of communications technology and services placed 6th on the list and was presented with the honor by 'Great Place to Work' Institute, a global research and management consultancy, following a survey covering companies across industries in UAE.. Ray Hassan, Vice President, Ericsson Region Middle East was on hand to receive the award at the ceremony on behalf of the company.

"At Ericsson, we believe that we are only as good as the people we employ, therefore we are always striving to provide the right environment for our employees to grow and develop. This has always been one of our priorities, and this award is a testimony to the right prioritization. This also becomes a perfect platform to work further in this direction and enhance career development opportunities for our team members." said Girish Johar, Vice President and Head of Human Resources and Organization, Ericsson, Region Middle East "At Ericsson Region Middle East, we encourage every one of our 5,000 unique employees to develop and build their life and careers within our global and local organization. Our core values of respect, professionalism and perseverance are reflected not only in our workplace but also in the way we do business with our customers and in our dealings with society. We are happy that this was emphasized by our employees in this survey."

Commenting on this success, David Robert, Chief Executive Officer of Great Place to Work Gulf, said: "We would like to send a sincere thank you to all of the companies that participated in the program this year and to congratulate each of the 15 companies that have been recognized as top companies to work for in the UAE. Great Place to Work conducts the most credible and objective workplace studies in over 45 countries, and by doing so we are uniquely positioned to be able to help companies increase the level of trust within their organizations and ultimately drive profitability."

The selection process saw, the 'Great Place to Work' Institute conduct an evaluation of each participating company with two-thirds of the company's score based on a survey sent to the employees in each company. The survey asks questions related to employees' attitudes about the management's credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction and is kept anonymous in order to ensure that employees aren't pressured to provide positive responses. The remaining third of the scoring is based on a second survey that is designed to asses each company's pay benefits program, hiring processes, internal communications and development.
