Riyadh - Etihad Etisalat "Mobily" announced the launch of Public "Tele Presence" service as the first operator in Saudi Arabia. Mobily TelePresence service is establishing new standards for Audio-Video communications and real time collaboration, thus truly contributes to the business productivity.

The new Mobily Public TelePresence facilities will enable Mobily's customers to minimize their travel time and expenses by delivering a live, immersive, face-to-face experience via the Mobily TelePresence network and community. Customers can enjoy real-time communication and to collaborate with colleagues, customers and partners in the 32 worldwide business cities.

With launch of "Tele Presence" service in Saudi Arabia, "Mobily" aims to enrich the (audio-visual) multimedia communication, with high definition video technology to serve the business sector. The Mobily public TelePresence solution will help its customer for fast decision making and facilitating a 'greener' environment by reducing the carbon footprint.

Commenting on the launch of the new service, Khalid Al Kaf, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of "Mobily", said that "Tele Presence" service represents a unique and distinct experience of visual collaboration that does not recognize the geographical borders, where "Mobily" was able to link "Tele Presence" service with 32 sites around the world with its fast growing community to cover other business cities. This service will enable the possibility of holding meetings at one place with the participation of other geographical dispersed locations through high definition and dynamic video technology.

He added that the new service is of vital importance for all economic entities, as it speeds up holding of meetings, decision making and concluding of business deals, and aims at rationalization of costs and expenses, and avoids abroad travel and residence risks, without having to use any devices or technical complexities.

TelePresence service is available through Mobily TelePresence Suite and is available for reservation through "Mobily" website. The service is provided from Mobily Central region through its Riyadh branch, and assured that all facilities and arrangements for Jeddah branch will be completed soon, same to be added as a true asset for the development of communication infrastructure, as well as to contribute to promoting competitiveness and increase number of companies and branches.

Mobily is the official brand name of Etihad Etisalat, the 2nd mobile service provider in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Established in accordance with a 2004 royal decree, the ownership of the company is two-fold: A Saudi ownership, comprising public investors holding 20% of the company’s shareholding, while private investors own a 45% stake. The balance of 35% is owned by the Etisalat of UAE.

Mobily launched its services on the 25th of May 2005 and in less than a year since its launch, Mobilys customers have reached 3.8 millions and more than 6 millions by 2006, beating the record in the Middle East and North Africa. Today, Mobily network is in all cities and major towns. This is in addition to more than 22,000 kilometres of highways so far, covered by Mobily independent coverage.

Mobily has also launched 3.5G services on the 27th of June 2006, covering 19 cities in the kingdom. By the end of 2006, Mobily had more than 500,000 active subscribers in the 3G and 3.5G, being described as the biggest 3G mobile operator in the Middle East.

In terms of services, it is worthy to mention that Mobily was has been leading in introducing new services and innovative packages in the Kingdom such as MMS, LBS, international roaming for prepaid SIM cards in addition to GPRS and GPRS EDGE roaming, as well as other services. Mobilys workforce exceeds 2700 employees with 82% of them from Saudi Arabia, and was the first to introduce female sales outlets in the telecom sector.
